DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONSULATE OFFICE
Since the date of establishment, The Consulate Office, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia generally performed certain representational, consular and promotional functions at our designated consular areas as assigned by the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu such as:
a) Representing Vanuatu at any local official functions;
b) Renewal of passport by Vanuatu citizens;
c) Application of visas and business visas by Malaysian and neighboring countries;
d) Authentication of document;
e) Assist Vanuatu nationals with legal or immigration problems and provide intermediary services such as application for letter of good conduct from Malaysian government;
f) Promote economic, political, cultural, educational, business and social ties between Vanuatu and the local communities and authorities in their designated area.
g) Arrange visit by Vanuatu Delegation.
There is evidence that Melanesian navigators from Papua New Guinea were the first to colonise Vanuatu. Over centuries, other migrations followed. Nowadays, all the inhabited islands have their own languages, customs and traditions.
